UK Lead Generation Companies Compared: Prices and Terms

POCKLA8 min read

Six UK lead generation companies compared on exclusivity, published prices, contracts and bad-lead returns, from each one's own website. Checked October 2026.

We compared six UK lead generation companies that sell home energy leads, POCKLA included, using only what each one publishes on its own website. We checked them on 22 October 2026.

The biggest differences between them aren't the price per lead. They're whether a lead is sold to anyone else, what happens to a bad one, and whether you're tied in.

POCKLA is one of the six. We've quoted only what each supplier publishes and linked every page we used. Where a supplier doesn't publish something, we say so, and we note where we cover less than the others.

How do UK lead generation companies compare?

The prices are each supplier's own published starting prices, so they aren't like for like. Suppliers qualify leads differently, and some of the prices are for shared leads.

What does each supplier offer?

Lead Pronto

A pay-per-lead agency that says it covers 48 sectors, from solar and heat pumps to mortgages. It publishes a starting price for each sector, from £15 to £150 a lead, and also sells booked appointments and live transfers.

Most sectors are exclusive by default. Solar is sold exclusive or shared, and boiler leads are shared with a small number of buyers. Solar leads are qualified by its in-house call centre. There's no contract and no notice period, and each campaign has a rejection policy agreed before it goes live.

Of the suppliers here, it covers the most sectors and publishes the lowest starting price.

Leads 2 Trade

Sells phone-qualified home improvement and energy leads, including solar panels, air source heat pumps, windows, doors and conservatories, to a network of member installers.

How many installers get a lead depends on its type. Hot Key leads go to one installer, Premium leads to a maximum of three, and Qualified leads are sent out up to four times. Prices aren't published, and there are no joining or subscription fees. You can reject a lead within 72 hours for the reasons it lists. There are no long-term contracts, with 14 to 30 days' notice.

POCKLA

Sells qualified web leads in home energy and consumer finance: solar, air source heat pumps, windows and doors, conservatories, mortgages and finance support.

Every lead is exclusive, and every sector has a published price range per qualified web lead: £20–£50 for home energy and £40–£200 for consumer finance. There's no setup fee, no monthly fee and no minimum term. Leads are followed up with AI qualification on WhatsApp or by SMS, as the buyer chooses, and invalid numbers are returned with no time limit. It covers fewer sectors than Lead Pronto or Leads 2 Trade.

PoweredLeads

Sells solar and air source heat pump leads in prepaid blocks, from £45 per accepted lead excluding VAT. The £45 starting price doesn't apply to a first order.

Solar leads in your agreed postcodes are sold to you and nobody else; for heat pumps, exclusivity is confirmed in your order. There's no minimum term. A lead that falls short is replaced as account credit, with no time limit, but there are no cash refunds on delivered leads that met the standard.

Sales Fuel

Sells home improvement and energy leads, including solar, heat pumps, and windows and doors, plus hotkey leads for solar. Its FAQ puts a lead at around £25 plus VAT at base.

Leads are exclusive to you for 30 days; after that, a lead you haven't contacted can be put back on sale. Pay-as-you-go has no minimum contract, though the FAQ gives a minimum order of 50 leads. A bad lead reported within 30 days is replaced free of charge, and solar leads are checked with filters and in-house phone qualification.

Watts Marketing

Sells exclusive leads as booked appointments, qualified on the phone by its own UK agents, for double glazing, solar, heat pumps, conservatory roofs and more. Prices aren't published.

There are no contracts or minimum commitments, and setup is free. If an appointment doesn't go ahead or doesn't meet its quality standards, you can return it for a full credit.

What about marketplaces like Bark and Checkatrade?

Marketplaces work the other way round. People post a job, and trades pay to contact them, usually alongside other trades.

On Bark, professionals pay in credits to respond to a request, and a general request can go to up to five professionals. The credit cost is shown before you buy, with VAT on top, and credits last three months. Credits are returned for some bad contacts, such as an invalid phone number, reported within seven days. Sources: terms, seller pricing.

Checkatrade is a trades directory. Its membership plans are £0, £30 a month and from £59 a month, and fixed plans run for 12 months. Rated People is now part of Checkatrade Group, and jobs posted there are matched with Checkatrade trades. Sources: pricing, Rated People.

Which lead suppliers replace bad leads?

Most do, on different terms:

  • PoweredLeads replaces a lead as account credit, with no time limit.
  • POCKLA returns invalid numbers, with no time limit.
  • Sales Fuel replaces bad leads reported within 30 days.
  • Leads 2 Trade lets you reject a lead within 72 hours.
  • Lead Pronto agrees a rejection policy for each campaign.
  • Watts Marketing credits appointments that don't go ahead.
  • Bark returns credits for some bad contacts reported within seven days.

Before you buy, ask what counts as a bad lead (a wrong number, a renter, a duplicate) and how long you have to report it.

How much do leads cost in the UK?

Published starting prices among the suppliers here run from £15 a lead at Lead Pronto to £45 per accepted lead at PoweredLeads, and Sales Fuel puts a lead at around £25 plus VAT at base. POCKLA publishes £20–£50 per qualified web lead for home energy and £40–£200 for consumer finance.

Prices depend on the sector, your area, your criteria and whether the lead is exclusive. A cheaper shared lead and a dearer exclusive one aren't two prices for the same thing: our guide to exclusive vs shared leads explains the difference, and the one on solar lead costs works through what a lead costs per install.

What are the alternatives to Lead Pronto?

Leads 2 Trade, PoweredLeads, Sales Fuel and Watts Marketing all sell home energy leads in the UK, and POCKLA sells home energy and consumer finance leads.

POCKLA and Watts Marketing sell only exclusive leads. At Leads 2 Trade, PoweredLeads and Sales Fuel, it depends on the lead type, the sector or the timing. Lead Pronto covers the most sectors and publishes the lowest starting price.

How should you choose?

Start with the four columns in the table: who else gets the lead, what it costs, what ties you in, and what happens when one is bad. Then ask how each lead is qualified, and whether you'll see what happens to it after delivery.

Our guide to how to choose a lead generation company sets out ten questions to ask any supplier.

How we checked

We read each supplier's own website on 22 October 2026, including its pricing, terms and FAQ pages where it has them. We didn't ask for quotes or contact any supplier. Prices and terms change, so check them with the supplier before you buy.

If you run one of these companies and something here is wrong or out of date, email team@pockla.com and we'll correct it.
