How Much Do Insulation Leads Cost in the UK?

What UK insulation installers pay per lead: 13 suppliers' published prices, checked 2 Nov 2026, why wall leads cost more than loft, and where ECO4 fits.

POCKLAPublished 15 min read

Suppliers that publish a price charge UK insulation installers from £22 for an exclusive, self-funded insulation lead, £25 to £31 plus VAT for a shared loft or wall job, and from £15 for an ECO4 or grant lead. At POCKLA, a qualified web lead for insulation costs between £20 and £80, with loft and cavity wall leads at the low end and external and internal wall leads at the top: an indicative range, not a quote, with the exact price agreed on a call.

This is what an installer pays for an enquiry, not what a homeowner pays to insulate a home. We read the published prices and terms of 12 other insulation lead suppliers on 2 November 2026, and the tables below set out what each one charges, job by job where they say.

Two things make insulation leads harder to compare than most. The job changes the price, and some leads are for funded schemes, which are a different product with an end date.

What do insulation lead suppliers charge per lead?

Here is what each supplier publishes on its own website, read on 2 November 2026. Where a supplier doesn't publish a price, the table says so.

These prices aren't like for like. A "from" price is the cheapest lead a supplier sells, not the typical one. Leads Do Work's prices are for shared leads and add a weekly fee. Sales Fuel's £25 is a base price across its products, not an insulation price. Several suppliers sell only scheme leads, or only one kind of insulation.

What do loft, cavity and solid wall insulation leads cost?

Only two suppliers in the table publish a price that changes with the job, and we publish where each job sits in our band.

Nobody publishes an average cost of insulation leads, and averaging these lists would mean little: a loft lead and an external wall lead aren't two prices for the same thing. Sales Fuel's base price of around £25 plus VAT applies across its products, so it isn't in this table.

Why do wall insulation leads cost more than loft and cavity leads?

In our band, loft and cavity wall leads sit at the low end and external and internal wall leads at the top. Three things put them there.

  • Fewer homeowners are looking. A loft top-up or a cavity fill is a familiar, contained job. Insulating solid walls, inside or out, is a bigger project, and fewer homeowners are weighing it up at any one time, so each enquiry takes more advertising to find.
  • There's more to establish. A wall lead is only useful if it says what walls the homeowner thinks they have, whether the home is listed or in a conservation area, and how soon they want the work. Each extra question is one more place a homeowner can stop before the lead is complete.
  • The fit is often narrower. If you only want solid-brick houses in one county, that's a smaller slice of homeowners than any home with a loft, and the tighter the criteria, the more each lead costs.

Leads Do Work's published list ranks the jobs the same way, but closer together: £25 for loft, £29 for cavity or internal wall and £31 for external wall, all for shared leads. A price list can put the jobs in the same order and still not tell you the spread you'd be quoted, so ask for a price for each job you fit, not one figure.

Your area and volume move the price too, as they do for any lead. Every POCKLA lead says which job the homeowner asked about, so a loft lead doesn't arrive priced, or worked, like a wall lead.

Where do ECO4 and funded-scheme leads fit?

Several suppliers in the table sell leads for funded schemes. GMS Leads sells ECO4 leads, Synergi Marketing sells ECO scheme leads, and Lead Pronto prices ECO4 and grant leads from £15, below its £22 leads for homeowners paying or part-paying themselves. A scheme lead is a different product from a paid one, so the two prices can't be compared.

Here is where the two supplier-funded schemes stood when we checked, on 2 November 2026:

  • ECO4 places an obligation on medium and large energy suppliers, and Ofgem administers it for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Ofgem says it runs until 31 December 2026, after a nine-month extension. Source: Ofgem, Energy Company Obligation.
  • The Great British Insulation Scheme ended on 31 March 2026, and Ofgem says it is closed to new installations. Source: Ofgem, Great British Insulation Scheme.
  • What comes next. The government's response on extending ECO4 says there will be no successor supplier obligation to ECO4, and points to grant funding under its Warm Homes Plan instead. Source: GOV.UK, extending the ECO4 end date, updated 23 January 2026.
  • Who can deliver it. Ofgem's supply-chain guidance says installers delivering ECO4 measures need to contact an obligated supplier, and must be TrustMark registered. Source: Ofgem, ECO supply chain.

Three things follow for a buyer. The homeowner on a scheme lead expects funded work, so that's where the conversation starts. Whether a household qualifies is decided through the scheme and the obligated supplier's process, not by a lead form, so no lead can promise eligibility. And a scheme lead is only worth what your delivery route can do with it before the scheme's end date. Heat pump leads come with a separate scheme, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which our guide to what heat pump leads cost covers.

POCKLA doesn't sell scheme leads. Our ads don't offer free insulation or funding, and enquiries that depend on a grant aren't sent. If a homeowner asks about funding, the lead records it as a screening answer, not an eligibility check.

What does an insulation lead cost per job won?

Take one invented installer buying 40 loft leads and 40 external wall leads. The numbers are round and made up for illustration. They are not POCKLA data, not any supplier's data and not a forecast.

Example (invented numbers)Loft leadsExternal wall leads
Price per lead£30£70
Leads bought4040
Spend£1,200£2,800
Surveys booked1410
Jobs won73
Cost per survey£86£280
Cost per job£171£933

The external wall job costs more than five times as much to win. Whether that's a good deal depends on your margin on each kind of job, which only you know. The test is the same for both columns: cost per job against the most you'd spend to win that job.

Now change one number. If the external wall leads won four jobs instead of three, cost per job would fall to £700. Knocking £10 off every lead, with three jobs, only gets it to £800. In this example, one more signed survey is worth more than haggling over the lead price.

You can also work it backwards. Divide what you'd spend to win one job by the number of leads it takes you to win one, and that's the most you can pay per lead, for each job type. Our guide to working out cost per job sets out the three rates behind it: contact, survey and close.

When is buying insulation leads the wrong move?

Buying leads isn't always the answer. It's the wrong move when:

  • Your pipeline is funded work. A self-funded lead won't fill it, and a scheme lead is only worth what you can install before the scheme ends.
  • You can't survey soon. If the homeowner wants the work within a month and your surveyor is booked for six weeks, you've paid for someone else's job.
  • You fit one measure in a small patch. Tight criteria raise the price per lead. Ask the supplier what it can supply there, and start with a small batch.
  • You don't know your survey-to-job rate by job type. A loft lead and a wall lead may convert very differently. Without your own numbers for each, you can't judge either price.

What should you ask before you buy insulation leads?

  • Is the price per job type? Get a price for each kind of insulation you fit, not one figure for all of them.
  • Self-funded or scheme-funded? Ask which you're buying, and whether you can choose.
  • Web lead, appointment or live transfer? Lead Pronto's appointments start at £130, and Watts Marketing sells only booked spray foam appointments.
  • Who else gets the lead, and for how long? One installer, up to four, or up to five, and whether it can go back on sale.
  • What else will I pay? Setup fees, weekly fees, a minimum order, payment upfront, and VAT.
  • What counts as a bad lead, and how long do I have to report it? In the table, from 72 hours to nine days, 30 days or no time limit, and three suppliers don't publish any terms. Our comparison of lead replacement policies sets out what usually counts.
  • What did the ad promise? The ASA's advice on lead generation marketing says anyone advertising a grant or funding scheme should be able to prove it's genuine and available as advertised. If the ad said free insulation, the homeowner expects it. Our guide to buying leads legally covers grant claims in ads and the consent you need.

Where POCKLA fits

POCKLA finds homeowners looking into loft, cavity wall, and external or internal wall insulation through its own Meta and Google campaigns. You choose the jobs you want, and each lead says which one the homeowner asked about. Our ads don't offer free insulation or funding, and make no savings claims. Whether a home suits any insulation is your surveyor's call, not the form's.

Every lead is sold once, to one buyer. The phone number is checked live and the postcode against your area. Everything else is the homeowner's own answer on the form, including the walls and loft as they describe them, and the consent names your business. After the form, our AI follows up on WhatsApp from your brand's number, or with free SMS nurture and a personalised link if you prefer text. Leads go to your CRM or POCKLA Desk, where calls made from Desk get free call analytics.

Invalid numbers are returned, with no time limit. There's no setup fee, monthly fee or minimum term. We check PAS 2030 certification or TrustMark registration before launch if you advertise them, and live transfers are available, priced on your criteria.

The indicative price is £20–£80 per qualified web lead. Our insulation leads page shows every field a lead contains, and pricing shows the band for every product we sell. Your exact price comes from a call where we agree the jobs, your criteria, postcodes, follow-up and delivery. What we won't promise is your survey or install rate. That's the number to measure, whoever you buy from.

How we checked

We started from the 12 other suppliers in our comparison of insulation lead suppliers, and read each one's own product, pricing and FAQ pages again on 2 November 2026. Scheme facts come only from Ofgem and GOV.UK, read the same day. We quote only what each supplier publishes, and we didn't ask anyone for a quote. Prices, terms and scheme rules change, so check them before you buy.

If you run one of these companies and something here is wrong or out of date, email team@pockla.com and we'll correct it.
